My Favorite Coffee Shop

I have been gatekeeping the world’s best coffee shop.

Well, I don’t think it’s technically gatekeeping because I do tell everyone I know about how much I love this place. But I haven’t written a dedicated blog post telling you why I love Vintage Coffeehouse, and that feels like gatekeeping.

From the first time I stepped in Vintage, I knew it was going to become one of my favorite places. I love my small town, but it was always missing something, and that something just happened to be a really good coffee shop. We have a few Dunkin’ Donuts, and a Starbucks opened a few years back, but we were seriously lacking in local coffee shops. My options for locally owned coffee were limited to a drive thru stand and an overpriced cafe, that, if I am being 100% honest, never really made my coffee right. It was always too bitter for me, no matter what flavor syrup I tried. Plus, one time they accidentally left the espresso out of my drink and literally handed me a cup of hot milk with caramel flavoring in it. Needless to say, if there were any other sit down coffee shop options, I would have been a much happier teenager.

And then, in 2022, my coffee loving dreams came true! Vintage Coffeehouse opened, and I immediately knew this was going to be my favorite place in the world. The atmosphere is somehow calming and exciting at the same time. The inside is decorated with vintage paintings, and the ambiance never disappoints. Plus, it’s so roomy and there are plenty of tables- every time I stop by, it is filled with people reading, having meetings, or working on their laptops.

On top of that, the coffee is phenomenal. I have loved every flavor I have tried, and their specialty drinks are always changing with the seasons. With each new specialty menu, I have found a coffee flavor combination that makes me so excited to stop by. First it was the Lavender Latte, then it was the Winter Wonderland, then the Blueberry Chai, then the Blushing Marshmallow, and now it is the Carmelita. Each was a 10/10 that I wanted nothing more than to drink them every day.

Above all, my favorite part of Vintage is the owners. As a regular there, they actually remember my favorite orders, and always ask me how I am doing. We chit chat about life, and they never fail to ask me how my Ph.D. program is going. At this point, they are totally getting a “thank you” shoutout in my dissertation.

If you’re ever near Butler, Pennsylvania, you need to check out Vintage Coffeehouse. I can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed!

Fun fact: I am writing this while at Vintage! Today’s order is a hot carmelita latte (with oat milk) and a blueberry muffin. The coffee syrup squiggle on my latte looks like an M, which was probably not done on purpose, but I would like to think it was.
